KRP Lodi is opening soon.
Lincoln shares its engines and much of its engineering with Ford, wrapped in a quieter, more comfortable package. From the Navigator and Aviator to the Corsair, the Nautilus and older MKZ, MKX and MKT models, we keep Lincolns running the way they should.
A Lincoln is built on Ford engineering: EcoBoost turbo engines, Ford's automatic transmissions and the same platforms as the Explorer, Edge, Escape and Expedition. That makes parts easy to get and the repairs familiar to our technicians.
Where Lincolns differ is comfort. Softer suspension, more sound insulation and more electronics mean a worn part can hide longer before you notice it. Our free digital inspection, with photos, is how we catch those things early.
Four areas we watch on Lincolns, each tied to the service page that covers it.
The 2.0, 2.3, 2.7, 3.0 and 3.5-liter EcoBoost engines are direct injected, so carbon can build up on the intake valves over time. Turbo oil and coolant lines are also worth inspecting at higher mileage.
Related serviceOn transverse 3.5 and 3.7-liter V6s, as in the MKX, MKZ, MKT and Continental, the water pump sits inside the engine and is driven by the timing chain. Coolant that disappears with no visible leak needs attention quickly.
Related serviceShift quality on these transmissions depends heavily on fluid condition and software. We check both before recommending any internal repair.
Related serviceA soft ride hides worn struts, bushings and adaptive dampers. Float over bumps, a clunk or uneven tire wear usually shows up here first.
Related serviceMany of them are. Engines, transmissions and a lot of the chassis are shared with Ford, which keeps parts available and repairs predictable. Trim, electronics and some suspension parts are Lincoln-specific.
On the 3.5 and 3.7-liter V6 in front-drive and all-wheel-drive Lincolns, the water pump is inside the engine. When its seal fails, coolant can leak internally. We pressure-test the cooling system and check the oil for coolant to confirm it.
Yes. Hybrid Lincolns still need brakes, tires, cooling and 12-volt battery service, along with engine maintenance on the gasoline side.
Most repairs at KRP Automotive are guaranteed for as long as you own your vehicle. If you pay for a repair at our shop, you shouldn’t have to pay for it again, that’s our promise at all four open New Jersey locations.
