KRP Lodi is opening soon.
Mercedes-Benz has sold diesels in the U.S. for decades, from the classic 300D to the BlueTEC E-Class, ML, GL and GLK. KRP services them all, including the AdBlue systems and the V6 that most of them share.
We handle the full range of diesel work on Mercedes-Benz cars and SUVs: fuel filters and water separators, DEF and emissions systems, DPF and EGR service, injectors, turbochargers, glow plugs, cooling systems and the transmissions behind them. Most BlueTEC models from 2007 to 2016 use the same 3.0-liter V6 diesel, which means the same handful of known issues across very different vehicles.
For the rest of the car, see our Mercedes-Benz page, and for vans, our Sprinter page.
Four areas that decide how these engines behave.
The seals under the oil cooler harden with heat and age, and oil collects in the valley of the engine or runs down the back. It is a well-known repair.
Related serviceThe intake manifold's swirl flaps and the EGR system collect soot, and the actuators can fail. Symptoms include a check engine light and lost power.
Related serviceThe AdBlue heater, pump and NOx sensors are common faults on BlueTEC models. The car counts down remaining starts when it detects a problem, so do not ignore the warning.
Related serviceOlder diesels like the 300D need glow plugs, injection pump and vacuum system work, and a lot of patience. We give them that.
Related serviceThe AdBlue (DEF) system has detected a fault or the tank is empty. Refill if needed. If the countdown continues with a full tank, the heater, pump or a sensor needs diagnosing. See diagnostics.
Most often the oil cooler seals have hardened and are leaking. Replacing them is a known job.
Yes. Classic Mercedes diesels are simple compared with modern ones, and we keep them running.
